| The Lev Margulis Memorial Prize: |
The Lev Margulis Memorial Prize is awarded annually to an outstanding Israeli student in the field of microscopy.
In alternate years, students are chosen from either the field of Biological or Materials Science. This year the prize will be presented to a student working in the field of Materials Sciences.

On behalf of the Lev Margulis Prize jury, we are happy to announce the recipient of the Lev Margulis Prize for 2017:
- Mahdi Halabi, Department of Materials Engineering and the Ilse Katz Institute for Nanoscale Science and Technology, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, for his work titled: Correlating charge and defect distributions in nanoscale magnesium aluminate spinel.
We congratulate Mahdi, who will give an oral presentation of his work during the Materials Science parallel session on May 23rd.
