{"id":155,"date":"2019-11-29T10:28:13","date_gmt":"2019-11-29T10:28:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ismicroscopy.org.il\/ism2020\/?page_id=155"},"modified":"2020-05-07T21:34:42","modified_gmt":"2020-05-07T21:34:42","slug":"margulis-prize","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.ismicroscopy.org.il\/ism2020\/margulis-prize\/","title":{"rendered":"Margulis Prize"},"content":{"rendered":"<table style=\"width: 100%; border-top: 0px solid black; border-bottom: 2px solid #D2421B;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"padding: 2px 0px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 18px; color: #d2421b;\">The Lev Margulis Memorial Prize :<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>On behalf of the jury of the Lev Margulis Prize, we are happy to announce that <strong>Yizhaq Engelberg from the Technion<\/strong> is the recipient of the 2020 Lev Margulis Prize in the field of Life Sciences for his work titled: <i><b>ATOMIC STRUCTURE OF THE LL37(17-29) HUMAN ANTIMICROBIAL PEPTIDE REVEALS FUNCTIONAL HELICAL FIBRIL WITH A NOVEL ARCHITECTURE<\/i><\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>We extend warm congratulations to Yizhaq Engelberg.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \n\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">[jbutton icon=\"forum\" link=\"https:\/\/abstracts.eventact.com\/personlogin.aspx?c=itQ&Event=i430&returnurl=%2Fagenda%2FAgendaWelcome.aspx%3FForm%3DiEnQ%26c%3DitQ%26Event%3Di430%26lang%3Den%26cache%3Drefresh&lang=en\" size=\"large\" newpage=\"yes\"]Margulis Prize submission - Click Here[\/jbutton]<\/br><\/br><span style=\"font-weight:bold; font-size:18px; color: black; background-color: yellow\">&nbsp;Deadline for Margulis Prize submission for Life Sciences: March 3, 2020&nbsp;<\/span><\/div>\n\n<\/br>\n&nbsp;\n\n\n<table style=\"width: 100%; border-width: 0px; border-bottom: 2px solid #D2421B;\">\n\n\n<tbody>\n\n\n<tr>\n\n\n<td style=\"padding: 2px 0px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 18px; color: #d2421b;\">The Lev Margulis Memorial Prize :<\/td>\n\n\n<\/tr>\n\n\n<\/tbody>\n\n\n<\/table>\n\n\n<strong>The Lev Margulis Memorial Prize<\/strong> is awarded annually to an outstanding <strong>Israeli graduate student<\/strong> in the field of microscopy.\n\nIn alternate years, students are chosen from either the field of Life or Materials Science. <strong>This year the prize will be presented to a student working in the field of Life Sciences.<\/strong>\n\nStudents eligible to submit an application should be in a graduate student status part or all of the time following the recent ISM2019 meeting, namely from June 2019.\n\nThe selected student will receive the prize during the opening ceremony of the annual conference, and will give a talk on his\/her work during the afternoon session.\n\nIn order to submit an application for the Lev Margulis prize you must first register to the meeting and then submit an application which should include:\n\n(a) An extended abstract (2 pages) should be submitted using the abstract submission form.\n\n(b) At least one recommendation letter (from the student\u2019s advisor) should be sent to <a href=\"mailto: \nakohn@tauex.tau.ac.il?subject= ISM2019 Margulis recommendation letter\">Prof. Amit Kohn (not via the student).<\/a> We request that the recommendation letters outline the unique microscopy aspects of the student\u2019s work and his\/her microscopy skills.\n\n(c)\u00a0If several people contributed the work please specify their names, affiliations.
