This prize will be given to a work that deals with microscopy analysis of materials, including any sort of microscopy technique and image analysis.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>Yael Mutsafi Memorial Prize<\/strong> for outstanding students in the field of microscopy for Life Sciences. This prize will be given to a work related to living systems, including any sort of microscopy technique and image analysis.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The prize recipients will receive the prizes during the opening session of the annual meeting and will present their work during the afternoon parallel sessions.<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-note\"  style=\"border-color:#d4d4d4;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;\"><div class=\"su-note-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\" style=\"background-color:#eeeeee;border-color:#ffffff;color:#000000;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;\">\n<strong>Lev Margulis<\/strong> <em>immigrated to Israel in 1987 from the Soviet Union, after having been denied an exit visa for 8 years. He joined the Weizmann Institute of Science where he pioneered the use of TEM for materials science. Lev was a remarkable man and a true friend, always happy to share the happiest moments of discovering new structures of matter. Lev passed away untimely in 1995 at the age of 54.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Yael Mutsafi<\/strong> <em>graduated with a PhD from the Weizmann Institute of Science, where she studied the structure of giant viruses by multiple electron microscopy approaches. Yael was a promising scientist, a gifted microscopist, and an unforgettable person, loved and honored by all who knew her. Yael passed away in 2019 after a severe illness while in her post-doc studies in the US.<\/em><br \/>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<table style=\"width: 100%; border-top: 0px solid black; border-bottom: 2px solid #D2421B;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"padding: 2px 0px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 16px; color: #d2421b;\">Eligibility:<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type:circle;\">\n<li>Israeli students, before or not more than one year from the submission of their thesis.<\/li>\n<li>Only one application at a time, the candidate should choose between Mutsafi or Margulis prize.<\/li>\n<li>Former winners of either prize are not eligible to apply again.<\/li>\n<li>In order to submit an application for the prizes you must first register to the ISM annual meeting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<table style=\"width: 100%; The extended abstract should include the following details:\n<ul style=\"list-style-type:circle;\">\n<li>Detailed description of the scientific work.<\/li>\n<li>Should contain at least one figure with representative microscopy data.<\/li>\n<li>A maximum of 2 pages including the figure and references.<\/li>\n<li>Use normal margins, font 12, and 1.5 line spacing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>At least <strong>2 letters of recommendation<\/strong> (one must be from the supervisor).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>All required documents should be sent by email to <a href=\"mailto: \nmtyaron@technion.ac.il?subject= ISM2023 Margulis &#038;
