The meeting will be preceded by the MSC Microscopy Summer School (May 25\u201326, 2026).<\/p>\n<table style=\"width: 100%; border-top: 0px solid black; border-bottom: 2px solid #D2421B;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"padding: 2px 0px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 16px; color: #d2421b;\">Eligibility:<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>Applicants must be members of the ISM at the time of application. Eligible applicants are PhD students or postdoctoral researchers currently conducting microscopy-related research in Israel. All application materials must be submitted to by email to <a href=\"mailto:israel.society.for.microscopy@gmail.com\">israel.society.for.microscopy@gmail.com<\/a>,  with a subject: ISM Travel Award to MSC 2026 <followed by the initials of the applicant>.<\/p>\n<table style=\"width: 100%; border-top: 0px solid black; border-bottom: 2px solid #D2421B;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"padding: 2px 0px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 18px; color: #d2421b;\">Submission Deadline: 06\/02\/2026<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<table style=\"width: 100%; border-top: 0px solid black; border-bottom: 2px solid #D2421B;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"padding: 2px 0px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 16px; color: #d2421b;\">Application Materials:<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n<li><strong>Curriculum Vitae<\/strong> (maximum 2 pages), including publications, presentations, and awards.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Extended abstract<\/strong>, meeting the following requirements:\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle;\">\n<li>Detailed description of the scientific work.<\/li>\n<li>Must include at least one figure with representative microscopy data.<\/li>\n<li>Maximum length: 2 pages and up to 1200 words, including figure and references.<\/li>\n<li>The abstract must be submitted to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ismicroscopy.org.il\/ism2026\/abstracts-submission\/\" target=\"_blank\">ISM2026<\/a> meeting for an oral presentation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Two letters of recommendation<\/strong> that will be sent to <a href=\"mailto:israel.society.for.microscopy@gmail.com\">israel.society.for.microscopy@gmail.com<\/a>  directly (not via the applicant), one of which must be from the applicant\u2019s PI. The PI letter must include an explicit commitment to cover all remaining travel and participation costs not covered by the ISM award.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Short abstract<\/strong> (up to <strong>300 words<\/strong>), to be submitted to the <a href=\"https:\/\/event.fourwaves.com\/msc2026\/submission\" target=\"_blank\">MSC abstract system<\/a> (https:\/\/event.fourwaves.com\/msc2026\/pages) only in the event that the applicant is selected for the award.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<table style=\"width: 100%; border-top: 0px solid black; border-bottom: 2px solid #D2421B;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"padding: 2px 0px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 16px; color: #d2421b;\">Selection and Presentation:<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>Applications will be evaluated by an ISM internal scientific selection committee. The awardee will be notified upon the committee&#8217;s decision. Following decision, the awardee will complete the submission of an oral presentation abstract via the MSC abstract system. The award funding will be allocated after providing proofs of <a href=\"https:\/\/event.fourwaves.com\/msc2026\/registration\" target=\"_blank\">registration<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/event.fourwaves.com\/msc2026\/submission\" target=\"_blank\">abstract submission<\/a> to the MSC 2026. The MSC organizers have confirmed that they will do their best to secure an oral (podium) presentation to the ISM-supported awardee. The Awardee will acknowledge the ISM funding in their presentation.<br \/>\n<\/br><br \/>\n* Applicants to this award are encouraged to apply in parallel to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ismicroscopy.org.il\/ism2026\/margulis-and-mutsafi-prizes\/\" target=\"_blank\">Lev Margulis &#038; Yael Mutsafi Excellence Prizes<\/a>.
