HeLa cells growth in 3D scaffold

Confocal image of cell clusters in 3D PEG-Fibrinogen microcarriers, after suspension culture in a bioreactor. Morphology of HeLa cells in PF (7.5 mg/ml) microcarrier suspended in a bioreactor was examined by confocal microscopy (scale bar = 50μm). Microcarriers were taken from the bioreactors and fixed for actin/nucleus staining. Staining performed with Fluorescent phalloidin-FITC (green) marking actin filaments and DAPI for nucleus staining (blue). The represented image shows cell proliferation and growth of clusters after 21 days in incubation.
